Jun 15, 2020 · The issue appears to be that wirelessly the XB7 in forced mesh mode is not optimized to deliver the fastest possible 5 Ghz speeds to the latest Wi-Fi capable devices (as opposed to my experience with the XB6 modem). "Good enough" wireless speed seems to be the new goal, possibly due to additional throttling.
When I do get the router to "issue" an IP address to the printer. It "connects" as 160.254.192.59 which is a self assigning IP meaning the DHCP from the XB7 failed to assign an IP to the printer. I tried changing the DHCP Lease range to 192.168.0.2-192.168.0.253. Still no Luck.. Carlson

These routers ...I also have the gigabit plan (1200 down 35 up) and with my old XB7-T I was getting around 500-600mbps being in the same room as the router and now with the XB7-CM I’m getting between 700-800mbps in the same room and the range is improved as well.
